The MTP line - Plastic & composite cylindrical gear test rig

Overview

The MTP line is series of multifunctional power transmission and tribological testing devices, which enable comprehensive testing and characterization of polymer and composite materials in gearing and other frictional contact applications. The device enables lifetime testing of spur and helical gears at actively controlled load conditions and sample (or ambient) temperatures.

Along with gear tests, an additional module is available for tribological twin-disc tests that the characterization of the tested material pair's frictional and wear properties.

(1) Torque on drive side can be increased to 10Nm at request.

(2) With possibility to increase rated speed to 3850 rpm by upgrading to a 3-phase ~400V power supply version.

(3) Upper range expandable to 160 °C or more if requested. To achieve temperatures below 40 °C, an inlet for conditioned air supply is provided on the device.
